Warm and Nourishing Winter Bowl

What’s for dinner tonight? These simple nourishing bowls have a lemon arugula salad, mashed sweet potatoes and wild rice...nothing fancy but oh so warm and satisfying. Healthy food does not need to be complicated, at its best it’s not. 

I believe in eating mostly warming foods. My body can digestive it much more easy and lessens my bloat. Our bodies are made for warm cooked foods, raw foods can be hard to digest. This is especially true in the winter months. Tip...Try pairing your raw salad with foods that are warm and give you more digestive fire or simply sauté your veggies for a couple minutes.

What you need…

Sweet potato mash:

-2 sweet potatoes, baked

-1 tablespoon butter

-1/3 cup parmesan

-2 garlic cloves, chopped

-1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

-salt and pepper to taste

Arugula salad:

-3-4 cups arugula

-1/4 cup shredded parmesan

-1 lemon, juices

-2 tablespoons olive oil

-salt and pepper to taste

One package of wild rice, cooked
