Simple Elderberry Syrup Recipe

Elderberry has been used in Chinese herbal medicine for centuries. It’s hands down the best for sore throats, coughs and colds, plus this recipe is loaded with a few each boosts for the immune system.

What you will need:

  • 3/4 cup dried elderberry

  • 3 cups water

  • 2 tablespoons ground ginger

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 2 cloves

  • 3/4 cup raw honey

    Bring to boil elderberries, water, ginger, cinnamon and ginger. Cover reduce heat for 20 mins, then remove lid and simmer stirring occasionally. Once reduced to about 1/3 of the mixture and thick, remove from heat. Let cool to warm, add honey and stir to melt. Pour into a mason jar and refrigerate, stays fresh for about 2 weeks.
