Eat more Apples: Why it's a Superfood and a Delish Recipe

It’s that time of year and it’s my favorite. It’s time for baking, sweaters and snuggles all which warms my soul. I like to keep things simple, clean and indulgent.

It’s Apple season and I could not be more stoked! They are a super food, did you know that? So how do apples improve health?

-They are cleansing to the gallbladder and liver.

-They target and collects parasites, mold, bacteria and virus’s from the entire gut.

-Apples reduce inflammation and stabilizes alkaline environment in the gut.

-They even improve brain function by strength in neurons and increases brain activity.

Apple Crumble...grain free, paleo, delish!

What you’ll need...

Filling:

10 apples, peeled and sliced

2 tablespoons of cinnamon 

1 teaspoon allspice

1/2 lemon juice

2 tablespoons of coconut oil (melted)

1 teaspoon of vanilla

1/2 cup coconut sugar

Pinch of salt

Topping:

1 cup of Birch Benders paleo pancake mix 

2 tablespoons ground flax seed

1/4 cup coconut sugar

1/4 cup shelled pumpkin seeds 

8 tablespoons coconut oil

Preheat oven at 350. Combine all filling ingredients until mixed thoroughly. Pour in baking dish.

Mix Birch Benders mix, flax and coconut sugar. Dust on top of apples. Sprinkle with pumpkin seeds. Add hard coconut oil crumbles on top, spread evenly through out the top of crumble.

Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes.
