Intuitive Eating Support

Intuitive eating support at True North is offered as a gentle, non-diet approach to rebuilding trust with food and body signals. Care is individualized and grounded in respect, curiosity, and long-term well-being — not rules or restriction.

This work is always optional and can stand alone or complement acupuncture care.

What Is Intuitive Eating?

Intuitive eating is a weight-inclusive framework that helps people reconnect with hunger, fullness, satisfaction, and nourishment without rigid food rules.

Rather than focusing on control or external plans, the work centers on understanding your body’s cues and your relationship with food — shaped by stress, health history, hormones, culture, and past experiences.

This is not a diet and does not involve meal plans, calorie targets, or weight goals.

How Intuitive Eating Support Works Here

Support is practical, paced, and collaborative. Sessions may include:

  • Exploring hunger, fullness, and satisfaction cues

  • Identifying patterns shaped by stress, restriction, or health history

  • Reframing food rules and moralized thinking around eating

  • Supporting nourishment during hormonal shifts, fertility care, or recovery

  • Integrating intuitive eating alongside acupuncture or other care

There is no “right way” to do this work. Progress looks different for everyone.

Who This May Be Helpful For

This approach may be a good fit if you:

  • Feel stuck in cycles of restriction, overeating, or guilt around food

  • Want support without dieting or weight-focused goals

  • Are navigating fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, or hormonal changes

  • Feel disconnected from hunger or fullness cues

  • Want a more sustainable, compassionate relationship with food

You do not need to identify as having an eating disorder to benefit.

How This Fits With Acupuncture & Holistic Care

Intuitive eating support is often integrated with acupuncture care to address the broader context of health — including digestion, stress, hormonal balance, and nervous system regulation.

Some patients choose to focus on intuitive eating for a specific season of care. Others incorporate it as one part of a more holistic plan.

We’ll help you decide what feels appropriate.

What to Expect

There’s no pressure to commit or “do this perfectly.”

If intuitive eating support feels like it may be helpful, we’ll talk through what that could look like and whether working with Katie is the right fit.

Care is thoughtful, non-judgmental, and tailored to where you are now.
