Get to Know Erica, True North's Grief Counselor
Erica Bertschy is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) who specializes in life transitions, grief, and emotional wellness here at True North Acupuncture and Holistic Medicine in Denver. She is dedicated to supporting adults through some of life’s hardest seasons, whether it’s overwhelming change, caregiving stress, or the weight of grief. With a background in hospice care and mental health counseling, Erica brings deep empathy to her work, creating a safe space for clients to feel seen, heard, and supported.
Her therapeutic approach integrates Emotionally Focused Therapy and Mindfulness-Based interventions, often sprinkled with a touch of humor. Erica helps clients build practical coping strategies, develop nervous system regulation techniques, and practice self-compassion so they can navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity and resilience.
Outside of counseling, Erica is a mom to three young boys who keep life full of energy and perspective. She enjoys yoga, traveling, being outdoors, and cooking with her family.

Supporting clients through grief and transition, and witnessing the way people rediscover hope and resilience even in the hardest moments.

Favorite movie to rewatch?
I’ve been going through a lot of the 90s classics with my kids lately. Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Mighty Ducks, Jurassic Park, etc.
Dream trip?
Japan is definitely on my bucket list but I will probably wait a bit to be able to experience the country when my kids are a little older. Although I do love the beach too.
Best way to spend a weekend morning?
Drinking coffee quietly, a yoga class and then heading outside for an adventure with the family.
Something people might be surprised to learn about you?
I love winding down with a good reality TV show or true crime documentary. The Real Housewives is definitely my favorite to watch while I fold laundry.
